For more than 40 years, Lafferty Heating has been Cambria and San Luis Obispo County’s leading HVAC contractor and sheet metal company. We’re a small, local business that believes in doing things correctly. We use building science to solve our customers’ comfort problems, diagnostic tools to prove results, and in-house machinery to craft custom sheet metal components and ductwork.

Our Story
Lafferty Heating has a long history in Cambria. Danny Lafferty founded the company in 1985 and operated it for over 20 years. In 2007, two long-time employees, Jeremy Calvin and Peter Gonet, took over the business and still operate it today.
Jeremy Calvin, Co-Owner
Jeremy Calvin began his HVAC career at age 21 and has spent 28 years in the heating, air conditioning, and sheet metal trade. For the first nine years of his career, Jeremy worked under Danny Lafferty, who served as both his boss and mentor. Following Danny’s passing in 2007, Jeremy continued Lafferty Heating, carrying forward the company’s commitment to quality workmanship, integrity, and reliability.
Jeremy is NATE and NCI certified in multiple disciplines and remains committed to continuing education, advanced diagnostics, and proper HVAC system design. His approach to every system is guided by four priorities, always in this order: Health, Safety, Comfort, and Efficiency.
Peter Gonet, Co-Owner
Peter Gonet began his career with Lafferty Heating in 1988, working his way from installer and sheet metal fabricator to Lead Service Technician. With decades of hands-on experience in the HVAC and sheet metal trades, Peter brings extensive practical knowledge and craftsmanship to every project.
Following Danny Lafferty’s passing, Peter became co-owner of Lafferty Heating with Jeremy Calvin, continuing the company’s long-standing commitment to quality workmanship, integrity, and reliability. Known for his dependability and punctuality, Peter has completed extensive industry training throughout his career and remains dedicated to providing customers with professional, knowledgeable service.

High-Quality Workmanship
We do things the right way, without cutting corners. Before an HVAC installation, we perform a complete load calculation to ensure your furnace or heat pump is accurately sized. In the field, we utilize our deep knowledge of airflow and transitions to ensure proper ductwork installation.
Unlike other contractors, we won’t connect your new HVAC system to old, rundown ductwork without telling you what needs to be fixed & recommending that you fix it. If you are willing, we’ll build a better system from the ground up.

Proving Our Results
After every HVAC installation, we do a complete performance analysis of your heating or cooling system. This gives you confidence that our work improved your home. Our tools check all vitals and return an A-F grade of how well your system is running. We’re not satisfied with anything except an A.

Using Building Science
When you call us to resolve a comfort, performance, or energy efficiency problem in your home, we don’t guess. We rely on building science and accurately diagnose the issue. We’ll measure everything from airtightness and duct leakage to combustion efficiency. With this information, we can pinpoint exactly what’s going wrong and provide a definitive fix.

Honest Service
Many other heating contractors will condemn your system if it has a problem and it’s older than 10 years. We don’t accept this. We’re always willing to work on older HVAC systems to keep them running for our customers as long as possible. We’ll never push you into an expensive equipment replacement you don’t necessarily need.
